Stingless Jellyfish at Jellyfish Lagoon, Bucas Grande Islands

The stingless jellyfish lives in sancutary Jellyfish Lagoon, Sohoton, Bucas Grande Islands, Surigao del Norte.

As visitors enter the waters on a paddle boat, the lagoon becomes a pool of floating orange blobs. The jellyfish steal the show amidst the chirping birds, the calm aqua jade waters and lush green mountains. Called the “jellyfish lagoon,” these creatures have umbrella-shaped bodies where elongated clubs, instead of tentacles, dangle from the midsection.

Location: Sohoton, Bucas Grande Islands, Surigao del Norte, Caraga Region

How to get there: From Butuan City by bus or van to Hayanggabon Port, Claver, then a boat ride from the port in going to Socorro town or Rally Point.

Distance: It will take estimated 2 hours to reach Hayanggabon Port of Claver from Butuan City, then another possible half to one hour crossing the seas going to Socorro or Rally Point.

Hagonoy of Bislig or Hagonoy of Britania? Both are white island beach facing the ocean.

The awesome photo of a white island is from Britania Group of Islands and Islets as one of the scenic 24 islands and islets facing the Pacific Ocean in the town of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur. This group of islands was famous because of it sugary-white sands, turquoise waters, snorkeling, and islands hopping.

How to get there: Public Utility Bus or van from Butuan City to San Agustin town, then rent a boat for island hopping in Britania Group of Islands.

Distance: Estimated 3 hours of travel from Butuan City to San Agustin, then rent a boat for island hopping to Britania Group of Islands.

The sights and sounds of Britania Islands can be exciting. If you want to challenge another one before going to white pristine beaches, like a boy did in his own time by hanging at the mangroves tree while listening to the crackling of the leaves by the wind blows coming from the ocean. Such a refreshing moment for one’s soul.

How to get there: Public Utility Bus or van from Butuan City to San Agustin town, then went to the coastal area for Britania Islands escape and witness mangroves along the bridge to the boating area.

A giant rock sitting on a rock! Magpupungko means from the word ‘pungko’ (to sit) and here goes the name of the place.

One landmark in Magpupungko that wonders everyone. This rock may have been there for million years. This astounding creation by nature located at Magpupungko, Pilar, Siargao as one of the best sights unfolded in Siargao.

Magpupungko is a haven of rocks from mountains to sea floor with hollow spaces on the ground. Once invaded by rising tide, the hollow spaces form into different natural made pools when seawaters subside back to the ocean.

Location: Magpupungko, Pilar, Surigao del Norte, Caraga Region

How to get there: From Butuan City by bus or van to Surigao City, then RORO or Pumpboat for crossing the sea to Dapa Port, then from Dapa Port taking a ride by jeepney or private vehicle to Magpupungko, Pilar

Distance: It will take for estimated 2 to 3 hours from Butuan City to Surigao City using public utility bus or private vehicle, then from Surigao City seaport crossing the sea by RORO for about 3 to 4 hours or pump boat for 2 to 3 hours in reaching Dapa Port. While in Dapa Port hiring a jeepney or private vehicle for at least half to one hour in going to Magpupungko.

This is one of the millions stingless jellyfish can be your friend forever. They are here to greet your eyes that they are the harmless creatures living in a peaceful and serene place called Jellyfish Lagoon at Sohoton, Bucas Grande Islands. The lagoon is a grand expanse of still turquoise water, making the outlines of corals visible underneath.

During the month of March until May, millions of stingless jellyfish started to show up, and visitors keep coming to witness them floating the waters of Sohoton.

How to get there: From Butuan City by bus or van to Hayanggabon Port, Claver, then a boat ride from the port in going to Socorro town or Rally Point.

The breathtaking view at the peak of a mountain in Marcos Park of Carmen town, Agusan del Norte province, where the large bodies of water called Butuan Bay, and the saga of mountains beyond Misamis and Bukidnon province. The aerial view dominated the green and lushful vegetation, and the presence of Camiguin Island added attraction to the view.

The sights and sounds embrace once soul when Mother Nature dominates the scene.
